Mufti Taqi Usmani, a prominent Islamic scholar and leader of Wifaq-Ul-Madaris, has called on the Muslim world to introduce a complete boycott of Israel and condemn the global community.

He emphasized that protests against Israel must be peaceful while warning that any damage to individuals or property is strictly prohibited under the Sharia Act.

The call was made during the National Palestine Conference, held in Islamabad on Thursday, where several Islamic scholars from different school schools were gathered to tackle the ongoing crisis in Gaza and Palestine, Express News reported.

While condemning the Muslim countries acting against Israel, Mufti Usmani questioned the purpose of Muslim armies and their weapons if not used to defend the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza. “If the armies of the Muslim countries do not engage in jihad over Gaza, what purpose do they serve?” he said.

The acclaimed Cleric said it is important to keep Gaza alive and to boycott the products of Israel and its supporters completely while emphasizing the need to also boycott companies that help Israel.

However, he emphasized that protests against Israel should not result in damage to someone’s life or property, as causing damage to others through stone throwing or violence is prohibited in Sharia and Israel’s boycott and its supporters’ products should be performed peacefully.

The call for non-violence came after a mob attacked a branch of an international fast food chain in Mirpurkhas late Tuesday night, injured the building and set part of it on fire.

Mufti Usmani confirmed Pakistan’s attitude and emphasized that the country has no relations with Israel and that it will not recognize the state of Israel.

He reminded the audience that the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had declared Israel a illegitimate state before the establishment of Pakistan, and this attitude remains unchanged.

Mufti Usmani also criticized the United Nations for enabling Israeli violence and noticing the failure of the global community of holding Israel responsible while calling for a clear and unified statement of jihad against Israeli occupation, which emphasized that Muslim leaders cannot avoid their duty.

Speakers at the conference highlighted the serious situation in Gaza with reports that over 60,000 Palestinians have been martyrated, including women and children.

The priests accused the United States of encouraging Israeli aggression and criticizing the passivity of international human rights organizations as they also pointed out the growing humanitarian crisis in which local populations were displaced and reports of Israeli attacks on medical professionals and journalists.

“Israel is a terrorist state,” Jamatiat disadvantage disrespect (Jui-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. “The management of the Muslim world is inactive and the silence is deafening.”

He emphasized that the time for just condemnation was over and called for military intervention in Gaza. “We must send our forces, because Jihad is now a religious obligation,” he said.

Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan talked about the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and urged Islamic nations to stop simply condemning Israel’s actions and intervening to help the people of Gaza.

He praised the opposition to Hamas warriors in Gaza and called for a military reaction from the 57 Islamic nations and questioned their true obligation to the Palestinian case.

The conference ended with a unanimous statement calling for a number of actions, including immediate cessation of diplomatic relations with countries recognizing Israel and the establishment of a policy without contact until an unconditional ceasefire is obtained.

The priests called on the United Nations to hold an emergency session and called on Pakistan to lead the charge in this case.

The conference also declared tomorrow “The suppressed Palestinians’ Day,” who urged Muslims around the world to show solidarity with Palestinians who have endured decades of occupation and violence.

Resolution of National Palestine Conference

The conference released a detailed statement describing Israel’s actions as open genocide and accused the UN Security Council and the International Court of Passivity.

The statement called for Jihad as an obligation to all Muslims, referring to the Islamic principle of “al-Aqrab fi al-Aqrab” (the closest must help first) in the light of Palestine’s suffering.

The statement also condemned US President Donald Trump’s remarks about moving Palestinians and confirmed that Palestine, including Jerusalem, is a legitimate and historical right to the Palestinian people.

“The Muslim world must meet to support Palestine,” the statement concluded. “Israel’s occupation is illegal, and the region, including all of Palestine, belongs to the Palestinians.”
