- Mullvad VPN has added Multihop to its Android -App
- The feature lands on Android after arriving at iOS and Windows in 2024
- Multihop is now available for Mullvad Version 2025.1 or newer
As of today, March 28, 2025, Mullvad has launched Multihop on his Android VPN app, which has promised to make online tracking harder by redirecting your traffic to two different Wireguard servers.
A popular advanced security feature among the best VPN services adds the new release to Mullvad’s Desktop and iOSApps’ existing multi -hop feature and is now available on Android 2025.1 or recent app versions.
Why use Mullvad Multihop?
“Routing your traffic through multiple servers in separate jurisdictions gives you a higher level of privacy and security, even if a server should be compromised,” Mullvad explains in an official message.
As the name suggests, the Mullvad Multihop feature allows you to redirect Wireguard traffic via two servers. This means that the input server where your connection starts will deviate from the EXIT server that reaches your final destination.
As the provider puts it, this will create “a tunnel in a tunnel.”
You have full control of your preferred post and starting points between the 600+ servers list in 49 countries that the provider offers directly in the app’s settings. Mullvad suggests choosing two servers in different jurisdictions if you want to make tracking even harder.
“Opponents would have to start timing attacks against traffic in several places to analyze your online use,” the provider explains.
