Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch officially presented his credentials to UNESCO General Audrey Azoulay on Friday and marked her appointment as Pakistan’s permanent delegate to the organization.

After the ceremony, Baloch and Azoulay held a productive meeting and discussed areas with collaboration between Pakistan and UNESCO, especially in education, culture and science.

Baloch praised UNESCO’s programs and policies and offers full support to promote the organization’s global mission in his role as Vice -President of the Executive Board.

Both sides agreed on the importance of improving collaboration in education, science and cultural heritage and recognizing Pakistan’s growing potential to contribute to UNESCO’s goals.

Azoulay welcomed Baloch’s appointment and highlighted Pakistan’s continued commitment to UNESCO and its significant contribution to the organization’s initiatives.

Baloch, an experienced career -diplomat with 30 years of experience, has had important diplomatic positions in Washington, Beijing and Geneva.

She has also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea and as spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
