The winter weather in Pakistan continues to show contrasting conditions, where snowfall is still underway in Murree and dry weather that grabs the rest of Punjab.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the dry spell will continue for the next few days, with temperatures gradually increasing, Express News reported.

This dry weather is expected to last for three to four days more over Punjab, including Lahore, where the daily temperatures have already begun to rise.

Lahore registered a minimum temperature of 11 ° C and is expected to reach a maximum of 24 ° C today. The dry conditions make the days warmer and the nights cooler.

Meanwhile, while parts of Punjab experience cloudy weather, including most areas of upper Punjab, the chances of rain remain low. Road experts have confirmed that there will be no significant rainfall in the region in the coming days.

In contrast, snowfall is ongoing in Murree, which adds the winter appeal to the hill station.

Authorities take the necessary precautions to manage roads, with teams from the communication and the works (C&W) department that spreads salt on highways to prevent ice formation.

Snow removal operations are performed using loaders and snow blowers to ensure clear roads for travelers.

In addition, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is set to witness rain accompanied by thunderstorms, with a decrease in temperature expected in different districts, the meteorological department says.

While most areas of the province are likely to experience dry and cold weather, upper regions will see an intensification of winter conditions.

According to forecasters, districts, including chitral, dir, swat, shangla, buns, malakand and Hazara division, are expected to receive rainfall with thunderstorms. Similarly, Manshra, Kohistan, Battagtram, Mohmand, Bajaur and Kurram are also likely to see rainfall.

The department also predicted snowfall in the top regions of the province, especially in hilly areas, which could affect travel conditions.

During the last 24 hours, Lower Dir registered the highest rainfall of 11 mm, followed by Kalam with 9 mm, Mir Khani with 7 mm and Drosh with 6 mm.

Chitral and Malam Jabba each received 3 mm of rain, while Kakol registered 2 mm. Swats Saidu Sharif and Takht Bhai saw 1 mm of rainfall.

Snowfall was reported in the mountainous areas where Kalam received 5 inches and Malam Jabba shooting 1 inch.
