Larry Tamlyn, the basic band member of Standells, died at the age of 82.
The musician’s nephew, Dennis Tamblyn, went to Facebook to announce the heartbreaking news Friday, March 21
“My uncle Larry Tamlyn died today. I have very fond memories of him and his family over the years,” Dennis wrote.
Dennis remembered Larry’s life performance and said, “He lived an incredible life. He was in a band called Standells whose hit song ‘Dirty Water’ is still played today, every time Red Sox or Bruins wins a home game. They also played on an episode of Munsters.”
“A few years ago, standells played at Hotel Congress here in Tucson, Ariz., And Larry stayed with me,” Dennis noted and ended. “It was so nice to hang with him and catch up. He still made music well into his later years. You will be missed, Uncle Larry.”
The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
