- Peal Abyss’ Crimson Desert has been delayed to Q1 2026
- It was previously scheduled to the end of 2025
- The delay is due to voice-over-work and console certification
Gamescom 2025 is formed to be one of the best this year, with lots of games from developers such as Capcom and Microsoft’s Activision, which is likely to be shown for fans as playable demos. Unfortunately, an ambitious title from Pearly Abyss, to which I am pumped, has given us an early update – and, spoiler alarm, that’s not exactly good news.
As reported by Gematsu, Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert has been delayed to Q1 2026, which revealed during a Q2 earnings conference call. While the open world RPG has never had an official release date, it was intended to launch by the end of 2025. This delay is due to the ongoing process of ‘voice-overs’ and ‘console certification’ which led to release.
Crimson Desert Signing up like Capcoms Resident Evil Requiem With playable demos available to fans participating in Gamescom and Pax West in August, with major updates on both games expected to open Night Live with Geoff Keighley.
To say that I am bummed about Crimson DesertDelay is an understatement as it is my most expected title between 2025 and 2026 – and yes, that means more than GTA 6.
While the waiting time of Rockstar Games’ next post in Gta Franchise has been an annoying for just over a decade, Crimson Desert Seems to be a big surprise and become a Goliath in the action adventure.
I think it’s safe to say we know GTA 6 Will be an immediate hit in sales and will probably have the most immersive and realistic open world in games. However, a significant number of players still believe Crimson Desert‘s open world’s realism is too good to be true. So the surprising element that could come from Crimson Desert’s Potential greater success is something I am very much looking forward to.
Analysis: A delay hurts but if it means more polish that’s fine for me
Look at
While no one wants to hear that an exciting title has been delayed, it’s not all bad. Performance and optimization of games on consoles and especially PC is the worst I’ve seen in all my years of games, with lots of developers who seem to depend on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel Upscaling Methods and Frame Generation Technology.
We know that voice-over work and console certification are suggested to be significant factors in the delay, but I will not be surprised if better optimization before launch is a measure of Pearl Abyss.
The same goes for Gta 6, which was also intended to launch at the end of 2025, but is now set to May 26, 2026. One of the worst things that could happen to any highly expected title is poor performance; Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a good example as it is an amazing successor to Falling orderbut is destroyed by consistent steming on console and PC.
In this case, Pearl Abyss should take all the time, it should polish and refine Crimson DesertTo help it live up to the enormous expectations that it is set.
