The standoff between six-time pro bowler Myles Garrett and Cleveland Browns reached new heights this week when reports appeared on a meeting that ultimately did not happen.
Last month, Star Pass Rusher recently informed Browns about his desire to be traded to another team. Garrett then asked to meet with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam.

But according to the NFL Network, Haslam rejected the offer to meet with Garrett. Haslam then pointed Garrett towards Brown’s General Manager Andrew Barry, pr. Cleveland.com.

In a statement announcing his trade request, Garrett said he prefers to land with a challenger next season. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it’s always been to compete for and win a super bowl, ”he wrote.
Garrett doubled on these feelings and concluded that it was not “adapted” with the direction of the franchise.

“I have a lot of love for Cleveland but it’s always for me that has been about [competing] For championships, the big games and winning Lombardis won, “Garrett told the NFL network in February.” We haven’t had the opportunity to do it. That’s all I ask for. “
“It’s not a decision I make easy,” Garrett said. “It took time and lots of conversation, but just looked at the team’s track and talked to some of the higher ups … I have a lot of respect for them, but I just don’t think we’re in line with where the team is going in the near future.”

Browns ended last season with a 3-14 record and face uncertainty in the quarterback position as Deshaun Watson rehabilitation after recently teasing his Achilles sen. Watson initially tore his right Achilles in October.
Brown’s Brass has stated that they would not act this year’s NFL -DEFENSIVE player in 2023. Brown’s principal coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier that Garrett is “part of the present. He is part of the future.”
Garrett has two years left on his contract with Browns.
