The American men’s national team is fighting for the coveted Concacaf Gold Cup Winners Trophy. But when, unpublished for Wednesday’s semi -final match against Guatemala, a flying item caused a disturbance on the team’s training grounds.
It is believed that an unidentified party had operated on what seemed to be a drone near the team’s training facility in St. Louis, reported CBS SPORTS.
The US Soccer Federation inserted three drones in front of Tuesday’s exercise according to the Associated Press. American coach Mauricio Pochettino ultimately made light of the fourth, unexpected drone.

“If someone wants some clips we can send. It’s not a problem,” said Pochettino. “We won’t hide anything. It’s not NASA here. It’s the national – men’s national team. No problem.”
The drone in question eventually landed outside the fencing perimeter of the training facility.

ESPN reported that American football staff is working to identify the drone.

Apart from the air disorder, it had to struggle with a situation on the ground surface. A group of individuals had to be asked to cease what seemed to be unauthorized filming of the session, CBS Sports reported. It is still unclear whether the incident had any connection with the flying object.

The American men have not moved on to the Gold Cup final since 2021. The Americans brought the championship home that year. Guatemala’s national team has never appeared in the final.
Since it concerns the crucial semi -final, Pochettino said it wasn’t clear whether midfielder Johnny Cardoso will be available for Wednesday’s match. Cardoso missed Sunday’s quarter -final victory over Costa Rica.
“He is training a little today, but he feels … a problem again in his ankle,” Pochettino said. “It’s not a big problem, but it’s an unpleasant situation.”
