The National Assembly has unanimously adopted a decision Monday, expressing strong solidarity with the oppressed people in Palestine and condemning the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

The resolution presented by the federal court minister Azam Nazeer Tarar called on the United Nations to take immediate steps to stop Israeli aggression and play an active role in the rebuilding of warships Gaza. Legislators from the entire political spectrum participated in the debate and condemned strongly Israeli acts and expressed support for the Palestinian case.

“This house requires that the brutals committed by Israeli forces be stopped immediately,” the decision said. “The house greets the 60,000 Palestinian martyrs and strongly condemns the continued bomb attacks, even after the announcement of a ceasefire. Israeli aggression is a failure of the international community.”

The resolution also required immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Palestinian territories.

While approaching the house, Tarar said Pakistan’s attitude to Israel is in line with the vision of the country’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “Quaid had made it clear that Pakistan would not support the Zionist state, and the current government is firm on this principle,” he said.

He highlighted the extent of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and noted that over 65,000 Palestinians have been martyrated, with more than 100,000 seriously injured. “A new chapter of brutality is written in Palestine, where innocent civilians – including children, women and the elderly – have not been spared,” he said.

The Minister of Law stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly raised the issue of Israeli oppression on all international forums. “The people of Palestine need the support of the global community now more than ever,” he emphasized.

He also drew parallels between the situations in Gaza and Indian -occupied Kashmir and reiterated that both questions must be resolved in accordance with the decisions of the United Nations.

“Our national attitude towards Palestine is clear and consistent. Whether it is Palestine or Kashmir, it can vote for self -determination being twisted through dialogue, but not through power and violence,” the minister concluded.
