Islamabad:
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee for Communication on Wednesday expressed strong concern about the repeated absence of NHA officials and called for action under parliamentary rules.
At his 13th meeting, led by MNA Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, the committee called the official’s absence to an ignoring parliamentary procedure and exposed NHA -related agenda.
Committee members unanimously condemned the repeated, unotified absence of the NHA Secretary and the President and called on the chairman to intervene in what they called an ignoring parliamentary procedure.
It was emphasized that Parliament represents the voice of the nation and that messages at the last minute or lack of participation in meetings undermine its authority and credibility.
The meeting was duly issued on September 10 with sufficient intimation time to the Ministry.
However, no prior communication was received regarding the Prime Minister’s directives or the official’s inaccessibility until just a day before the meeting.
