Nadra Diging fully of all services via Pak ID -App

National Database & Registration Authority has fully digitized the process of getting identity cards and other official documents through its innovative Pak ID mobil application.

According to Nadra Local Chapter sources, the app has transformed the way identity services are provided to the public, allowing citizens to apply for identity cards, family registration certificates (FRCs) and other documents from their home’s comfort.

“In just three months, more than 1.2 million applications have been received through the Pak ID app, while over 10 million citizens have downloaded it so far, making it one of the most widely used and trusted public services in the country,” an Nadra official told the app.

The app also allows citizens to carry out biometric verification, upload documents and track applications directly through their smartphones. On average, more than 10,000 cases are processed daily through the application, which increases significant convenience to the public.

Nadra sources added that the Pak ID app has driven a 45 percent increase in digital applications, reflecting rapid public migration against a digital identity system. This digital facility marks a major step forward for e-governance in Pakistan, utilizing modern technology to streamline public services.

Digital services for retirees in Karachi

Last month, Nadra announced plans to increase the number of registration counters in Karachi from the current 359 to 550 at the end of the current financial year, in one step aimed at facilitating citizens and improving the delivery of services.

According to Nadra officials, the existing counters are operational in various mega and national registration centers throughout the city. As part of a broader effort to digitize and modernize its services, Nadra is also set to introduce a number of new online facilities.

Among the most significant is the launch of an online “proof of life” feature via the Pak Identity Mobile application, which is primarily designed to facilitate retirees, especially those facing challenges in fingerprint verification due to age or health conditions.

Talking to Express PakinomistNadra’s director of Media Syed Shabahat Ali said the new feature would provide a long -term solution for the elderly who encounter biometric or technical difficulties.

He also revealed that events were being made to give close family members, such as a son or daughter, to help older users end the digital verification process.

Ali urged citizens to ensure that all important events, such as births, marriages, marital status changes and deaths, are duly registered in their respective trade union councils as they form the basis for accurate data within Nadra’s digital system.

Nadra has started local presentation of ATM style self-service kiosks to facilitate renewals of identity cards and other registration services without the need for personal interaction.

Originally, the kiosks will be installed at Karachi Mega Centers, followed by a wider roll -out at airports, railway stations, malls and other public spaces.
