National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has streamlined the process of achieving succession certificates, making it significantly easier for citizens to demand inheritance rights accumulated by Associated Press of Pakistan.
A new notification issued on Tuesday says that legal heirs can now submit applications for succession certificates at one of the 186 succession certificate units (SFUs) established over Pakistan.
These units are located at Nadra centers in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, no matter where the hereditary property is located.

In an attempt to improve convenience, the biometric verification process has also been improved. Legal heirs can now end the biometric process either at their closest designated Nadra Center or externally via Pak ID mobile app.
Previously, applicants were obliged to submit subsequent certificates in the province where the hereditary property was located, which created challenges for heirs living in other provinces. While Nadra had previously introduced mobile -based biometric verification, applications had to still be submitted in the province where the property was located.
With the new initiative, Nadra has removed this restriction, which allows citizens to start and end the process anywhere in Pakistan. A Nadra spokesman confirmed that official messages have been sent to all Nadra centers with SFUs to ensure citizens can access the service at their nearest location.
