Natalie Portman has set her priorities when it comes to living a privacy as a celebrity.
In a recent chat with May DecemberThe 43-year-old actress opened honestly about moving to Paris from Los Angeles with her family in 2016 and revealed why she prefers abroad to live.
“I think people here are actually incredibly friendly – you just need to know how to interact so we aren’t the ones who are rude. Now, when I go back to the US, I’m like,” oh, “I’d go into a store and not say hello to everyone there? It’s weird,” she told the business.
Portman noted that the culture of Paris, France “extremely specific” in “both deep and surface ways.”
“All the kids who come to my house are like“ Bonjour Madame ”and give me the bisen [cheek-to-cheek kiss]. And before they travel, they are like ‘thank you for having me’ and if I’m not nearby, they come and find me saying it, ‘she gused over French culture.
Adding how people in Paris treat her differently compared to in America as a celebrity, Portman said: “They are very good at privacy here. I feel like the biggest compliment is’ ELLE EST TRèsuered [‘she is very discreet’]. “
It is relevant to mention that Portman shares two children with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied, 8-year-old Amalia and 13-year-old Aleph.
