The National Assembly in Pakistan invites applications for his six-week parliamentary internship program beginning in June 2025, giving young candidates a chance to gain practical experience in parliamentary operations.

The internship is part of the congregation’s outreach efforts under its strategic level, aiming to increase youth participation and civil engagement through academic cooperation.

Who can apply

Applicants must have completed at least 14 years of training from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) -angled institution. Those enrolled in four -year bachelor’s programs are eligible for two years (or four semesters). Master students can also apply.

Qualified academic backgrounds include law, finance, business administration, public administration, financing, trade, HR, IT, agriculture, media studies and social sciences, among others.

Candidates must have secured at least 60% grades or a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0. The maximum age limit is 30 years. Students and candidates from remote or underrepresented areas including Balochistan, southern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, are especially encouraged to apply.

What to expect

Selected trainees work full time for six weeks, five days a week, for at least eight hours a day. They will review a 3-5 -day orientation at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (Pips) in Islamabad and then be awarded different departments in the National Assembly.

Participants gain insight into regulatory research, public politics and parliamentary procedures. Interns are expected to maintain at least 85% participation, observe a formal attire code and remain non-partisan under the program. A certificate for completion is awarded by successful participation.
