Atlanta won the game 11-5, but it was Young’s defensive skill that was over.
He showed off his concentration skills against the New York Mets on Sunday afternoon.
Nationals tried to hold a small lead over the New York Mets at the bottom of the fifth lap. Mets Batter Brett Baty sent a pitch deep into the midfield of Citi Field. Young tracked it from the start, but as he got closer to the warning track, he seemed to have wrongly rated where the ball should be.
Young jumped and turned back towards the ball as he crashed into the wall. He jumped out of the fence and saw the ball pop in and out of his glove. He had that place to use his foot to prevent the ball from hitting the ground and concentration to end the catch.
