PML-N president Nawaz Sharif has been advised against traveling to Saudi Arabia considering his health.

The former prime minister was scheduled to spend the last ten days of the Holy Month Ramazan in Makkah and Madinah, according to his many years of habit.

Sources in the reigning party said Nawaz’s doctors are of the opinion that he should not take on a flight.

They said that the PML-N president’s personal doctor Dr. Adnan has completed his control daily. Nawaz has also been asked to have a pacemaker installed, they added.

Nawaz Sharif, who returned to the country in October 2023, after a four-year self-employed exile, was diagnosed with a debilitating health while he was in prison with a seven-year sentence in October 2019.

PTI led the federal government had then given him a rare permission to receive medical treatment in London. When he returned to the country, Islamabad released the High Court (IHC) PML-N president of the charges of corruption.

However, Nawaz chose not to drive to the fourth time the premiere after his party did not get a simple majority in the National Assembly in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
