Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has decided to return to Pakistan from London on an urgent basis, party source confirmed on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the former prime minister is expected to arrive in the country on Wednesday, although no official statement of party leadership has yet been issued.
The decision comes in the midst of reports of crucial internal considerations within PML-N as the party is preparing for important political developments.
The party’s officials said Nawaz Sharif has called for his brother, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to the family’s residence in Jati Umra on April 25 for an emergency about what sources described as an “important matter.”
In addition to meeting with Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz is also expected to hold a number of high-level consultations with senior PML-N leaders this weekend and spans Friday to Sunday.
The nature of the discussions has not been revealed, but insiders suggest that they can relate to the internal party strategy and national political planning.
Sharif, who has lived in London since 2019 for medical treatment, returned shortly to Pakistan in October 2023 after a long -term self -stepping exile and has since actively developed with the party’s management and decision -making processes.
