LeBron James left his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time after the 2017-18 season. He has spent the last seven NBA seasons with Los Angeles Lakers and won a championship with the franchise in 2020.

James went into this season with an option of $ 52.6 million player, which he eventually decided to train in the 2025-26 season. Despite the decision, James could be open to at least exploring opportunities with other teams before the new season tips out in the fall.

James has already played 21 NBA seasons and celebrates his 41 -year birthday a few months into next season. Although it is unclear how much longer James will continue to play in the league, he is definitely much closer to the end of his great career than he is at the beginning or even the centerpiece.

Lakers-Insider Jovan Buha recently offered his perspective on where the four-time NBA master relationship stands with Purple and Gold.

“I mean, I want to be careful about what I say about Bron’s relationship with the front office or organization, but I don’t think it’s in the best place right now to be completely honest,” Buha said during a performance on his “Buha’s Block” podcast.

Klutch Sports founder and CEO Rich Paul, who also represents James, Espn told James “will be closely monitoring Lakers’ movements and whether the team places himself this season to mark a title layer list.”

Buha also highlighted the lack of an “official statement” from Lakers in the hours and the following days after he practiced his player’s attitude.

“As you know, there has been no official statement that LeBron chooses. There is typically – especially for a player of that size,” BUHA noted. “And then he has had his stuff on social media or whatever he has sent, and there was obviously the statement when he chose. So I don’t think things are in the best place they’ve ever been. I just want to say it. Do what you want.”

Espn’s Brian Windhorst, who has spent the last two decades after James’ career, recently suggested the possibility of James being involved in a trade that placed him with another team.

“I would have said, four days ago, when LeBron chose his contract, I would have said there was no chance he was acting. At that time, I just didn’t think so,” Windhorst said last week at ESPN Cleveland, according to Real GM.

“After having conversations in the last three or four days, I no longer say that there is no chance. I am not saying it is likely, but I cannot say responsibly that there is no chance anymore.”

Lakers acquired Luka Doncic via a shocking blockbuster trade in February. But the team was removed in the first round of the playoffs in April.
