NBA star Kevin Durant River up and talks about Team USA, Olympics

Talking about playing for Team USA had multi-year NBA All-Star Kevin Durant in tears.

The new Netflix documents “Court of Gold” had access behind the scenes Access to all things Basketball at the Paris Olympics in 2024, including Team USA, which Durant played the lead role in his fourth Olympics.

In Netflix’s Teaser Video of Docuseries released Monday, an emotional Durant had to stop midway through an interview to dry his tears while talking about his time with Team USA and how much it means to him.

“I come from neighborhoods where people don’t even talk to each other,” Durant said with emotions. “There is also so much hatred in the world. When people are going to start laughing and joking after the ball fight, it’s cool for me.

“So like it gets me emotional, dog.”

It is something that still fascinates Durant until today to see the world united through the basketball match.

“It’s crazy to watch people travel so long to come and watch their favorite player play in the Olympics,” he explained. “They send their money. They bring their whole family. It’s just dope for me.”

Durant continued to say that “the game has saved my life. It brought me and my family out of a lot of bulls —. I’m just grateful for that.”

Durant is one of many Team USA stars shown in the six-part documents, but he is arguably the best player to ever wear the red, white and blue on his jersey.

Durant did not play for Team USA in the 2008 Olympics after his rookie season, but he has been part of Gold-Medal-winning teams in the last four games. No player in the US Basketball History has four gold medals for their name.

Durant also has the most points ever scored by a team of US basketball player, men or women, and he did it on his way to helping the United States win gold in Paris over France.

The Phoenix Suns star is 36 years old and has spent the last 17 years playing professional basketball after he was chosen as second together by the then Seattle Supersonics in 2007 NBA draft.

Durant has continued to make 15 All-Star teams, win two NBA finals with Golden State Warriors, be NBA’s leading goal scorer four times and make the All-NBA team 11 times.

There is no doubt that Durant has the future Hall of Famer written all over the resume, but he clearly loves to play the game for his country as well as in the NBA.
