Five current or former Iowa State Football Coaching staff have been punished by NCAA for sports games that included betting on the school’s men’s and woman’s basketball programs. They face no criminal charges.
In total, the five coaches combined to make more than 6,200 online bets of a total of more than $ 100,000 at stake. Some of these efforts came on professional events, others were in college sports.
The violations have been classified as Level II, which means they could compromise the integrity of the NCAA Collegiate model.

The coaches are Jace Heacock, Chase Clark, Michael Dryer, Kyle Highland and Mason Williams.
Now, any of the five employed by another school’s athletic department must participate in the annual NCAA-Regional rules seminar at their own expense and earn a two-week suspension during the show reason. They are all subject to a one-year show reason order through April 24, 2026.
Heacock, son of defensive coordinator Jon Heacock, was a football education assistant in 2021 and 2022. He was hired as director of football analysis on April 24. His biography of Isus Athletic Website did not mention where or whether he worked in 2023 and 2024. He was found to have placed 787 bets a total of about $ 55,359.
Clark, former assistant director of football equipment operations, placed 2,305 bets a total of about $ 18,676, including 46 bets at ISU men’s and women’s basketball. He is now assistant equipment manager for Detroit Lions.

Dryer, former assistant for equipment operations, placed 1,182 bets totaling approx. $ 11,536, including 25 bets on ISU men’s and women’s basketball. He is now working on sale for a sports equipment.
Highland, former football recruitment operation assistant, placed 509 bets a total of about $ 6,365, including eight bets at ISU men and women’s basketball. He is now the Army Assistant Director of Football Operations.
Williams, formerly associated with athletics equipment operations, placed 1,455 efforts totaling approx. $ 11,679, including 12 bets at ISU men’s and women’s basketball. He is now head of the Valparaiso.
The five were identified during a state survey of sporting activities in Campus Athletic Facilities from 2021 to 2023.

The State Ministry of Criminal Investigation turned the names of the five men to Iowa State officials as part of his investigation into minor online sports initiative at the Colleges in the state. Dozens of athletes in Iowa and Iowa State were caught in Sting and accused of, among other things, minor games and identity theft.
Many of the athletes pleaded not guilty and paid a fine; Prosecutors were rejected against others. More than three dozen athletes have joined a civil lawsuit against DCI, claiming the agency had violated their rights and lubricated their reputation.
