National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rain, wind storms, thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms in parts of Punjab from Friday night to Saturday, potentially affecting infrastructure, transport and agriculture, Radio Pakistan reported.

According to the National Emergency’s Operations Center, affected areas may include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Lahore, Narowal, Sahiwal, Sargodha and Sheikhupura.

The agency warned that strong wind and rainfall could cause trees to fall and lead to temporary power cuts. Hills can damage crops and outdoor structures, especially those with glass surfaces.

Travelers have been asked to control the road conditions before departing and avoiding unnecessary trips during periods of intensive weather. Residents of landslide areas are encouraged to remain aware and follow local security guidelines.

“The public is strongly encouraged to take all the necessary precautions to minimize the risks associated with the serious weather,” NDMA said in a statement.
