A widow’s game is a gripping new Netflix movie that provides serious Away Girl Vibes and I am so excited to see when it arrives at one of the best streaming services.
Arriving on May 30, it certainly has the potential to be one of the best Netflix movies as it is inspired by a very interesting case that I had not heard of before known as “The Black Widow of Patraix.”
The Spanish-language film is directed by Carlos Seds and written by the team that brought us the Netflix Drama series Asuna case. This series follows a couple who reported that their daughter is missing, revealing the truth of a seemingly image perfect family.

What is the plot of a widow’s game?
Seen in 2017, a man’s body is found in a parking lot. He has been stabbed seven times and the authorities believe that all signs point to a passion crime. With a veteran inspector who was on his way up for the crime, she soon led to a suspect that no one expected: Maj, the young widow who had been married to the victim for less than a year.
The crew is led by Pan’s maze Star Ivana Baquero that plays maje, and Criminal‘S Carmen Machi, Eva, the case inspector. The role crew also includes Tristán Ulloa, Joel Sánchez, Álex Gadea, Pablo Molinero, Pepe Ocio, Ramón Ródenas, Amparo Fernández and Miquel Mars.
I love a good crime drama and I am very excited to see this unfold and how the titular widow is brought to court. If of course she is!
