A fresh post-Mortem was performed in Hyderabad on journalist Khawar Hussain, who was found shot in Sanghar on Sunday. The move follows serious concerns about deficiencies in the initial autopsy performed in Sanghar.
According to reports of X, the fresh investigation is conducted at the request of Khawar’s brother and under a directive from the SINDH inspector of the police. Previously, official sources had marked discrepancies in the initial autopsy report and raised questions about the cause of death.
Hussain, a Karachi-based journalist, was found shot on Sunday in Sanghar. According to police and the preliminary investigations, he was discovered inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound on his head, parked outside a private hotel on Hyderabad Road late Saturday night.
A licensed gun – registered in his name – was found in his hand. CCTV recordings allegedly show that he was alone on stage, went in and leaves the hotel’s laundry room several times before returning to his car.
The journalist’s family arrived in Karachi from the US on Monday morning. They reached Jinnah International Airport before traveling to Hyderabad and later to Sanghar.
Hussain’s father said to journalists, “Khawar was a very brave man. He couldn’t have shot himself. This is a murder.” He added, “We had no disputes or conflicts with anyone.”

A day earlier, a high -level investigative committee was set up to investigate the mysterious death of the veteran journalist, officials confirmed.
The committee is led by additional inspector of the general inspector of the terrorist interior, Azaad Khan, and includes you West Irfan Baloch and SSP Sanghar Abid Baloch as members. The message was officially issued by you Crime and Investigation Aamir Farooqi.
The panel has been assigned the task of reviewing all aspects of the case and is expected to submit its conclusions to the SINDH inspector of the police within two days.
