New budget for focus on education, Health: Bugti

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the upcoming provincial budget will focus on sectors in health and education, and there will be no room for politically driven development schemes.

CM made these comments while chaired a meeting on Tuesday at Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting reviewed preparations for the upcoming Balochistan Budget 2025–26 and Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).

The meeting attended provincial ministers and parliamentary leaders of coalition parties. Participants participate in detailed considerations of development priorities, effective distribution of financial resources and initiatives aimed at public welfare.

During the session, Chief Minister Bugti declared that the upcoming budget would be centered on sustainable development and people’s real needs.

He assured that recommendations from the parliamentary committee would be carefully incorporated into the final draft budget to ensure inclusive and relevance.

He reiterated the provincial government’s obligation to transparency and accountability, especially by utilizing development funds. Bugti emphasized that health and education would receive the highest priority and that all efforts would be made to ensure credit -based allocation of resources in all districts and trade union councils.

“There will be no room for politically driven schemes. Each area and every citizen of Balochistan will be treated equally. It is my most important responsibility to guarantee transparency in the fund distribution,” he said, addressing the parliamentary leaders.

The meeting marks a significant step towards ending a budget aimed at stimulating economic growth, improving the infrastructure and expanding social services throughout the province.
