New -Connections Today (Play #624) – The answers
The answers to today’s connections, game #624, is …
- Yellow: Eat violently Gobble, Gulp, Scarf, Wolf
- Green: Bend under pressure Bow, buckle, hollow, give
- Blue: Classic nautical tattoos Anchor, compass, mermaid, swallow
- Purple: body parts plus letter Butte, China, fireplace, shine
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: Perfect
I fought a little to come today. I was convinced that anchor and swallow were classic tattoos, but not saw the nautical joint until later. With Butte and Cave, in the meantime, I initially thought we were looking for something geographical. But no, we searched for shutters and tibia.
I have a friend who comes from a family who all eat violently. It’s as if their plates are on fire or are swept away from the table if they take a break. It is quite a sight to see, but a little awkward when they eat out as they are done as I have only started.
I will not say that I am a slow eater, even though I am aware of the advice that you have to chew every mouthful 37 times to help digestion. I like to appreciate my plate before I wolf it down, otherwise we might as well just swallow pills and soylent.
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.
Yesterday’s new -connections answer (Sunday 23rd February, Game #623)

What are new connections?
New Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four objects that share something in common, and each group has another level of difficulty: green is light, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you do not have to technically solve the last one, as you can answer one by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four errors, giving you a little bit of breathing room.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to get up with tricks. For example, be careful on gay and other word games that can hide the answers.
It can be played free of charge via the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
