When I saw Ginkgo, I immediately thought a group had to be about Japan. In my first guess I omitted karaoke and included mogul instead – my thought is that it was a trick as there was recently a news about a city in England named Stockport, which claims to be the birthplace of karaoke, rather than Japan . But I was wrong. Obviously
The legend says that a shop owner named Roy Brooke invented Karaoke – largely singing on the hits of the time – in the early 1990s, but it was stolen by some visitors from Japan who continued to market it around the world .
Karaoke is still massive in Stockport, where 12 pub teams compete against each other every Monday to be crowned as Karaoke Champions of Stockport. And that bit is a true story at least!
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.

What is new connections?
New Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty: Green is light, yellow a little harder, blue often quite cool and purple usually very difficult.
On the positive side, you technically do not have to solve the last one, as you will be able to answer it by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four errors, giving you a little bit of respite.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to let you go up with tricks. For example, be careful on gay and other word games that can hide the answers.
It can be played for free via the new Games page on desktop or mobile.
