- A collection of new leaked DJI Mini 5 Pro photos has been released
- “C0” sticker suggests it will be the first under-249G drone with a 1-inch sensor
- Battery appears to be the same as that used by DJI Mini 4 Pro and Mini 3 Pro
A new set of leaked photos of the DJI Mini 5 Pro has arrived, bringing with it a whole pile of new information about the upcoming ultra-lightweight drone.
Following the leaked rendering and specifications that emerged earlier this month, this set of photos that were shared on X (formerly Twitter) and dronexl of trusted drone tipster Jasper Ellens sees the actual drone even from different angles.
Some exclusive new photos from my friends today. Reveals more secrets on #mini5pro. It seems that DJI managed to pull out the unthinkable: a sub 249 gram #C0 consumes 1 inch camera drone. They actually made it happen! Cheers Jasperhttps: //t.co/ooouwzgulgc13 August 2025
These new views of the DJI Mini 5 Pro appear to reveal a few key information about the drone, such as the fact that it will use exactly the same batteries as Mini 4 Pro and Mini 3 Pro – Good news for people who already own one or both of these models.
More exciting, however, is the presence of a “C0” sticker on the bottom of the drone. Assuming this is real, it is confirmation that the Mini 5 Pro will still weigh less than 250 g.
While this could not be called surprising news-after all, under-250g weight has long been one of the most important sales points in the mini-series it is nice to see that the Mini 5 Pro’s alleged new features such as Lidar and a camera with a 1-inch sensor have not tipped it into the C1 class.
Personally, I see a 1-inch sensor on a under-250G drone as a huge achievement for DJI; Having DJI air levels of imaging benefit on a drone that can be flew with far less fuss, at least here in the UK, where I live, makes it a really exciting view.
If the leaked info turns out to be correct, I certainly can see the DJI Mini 5 Pro be my next go-to drone for daily aerial photography and video.
Secret Button?
One last exciting detail from the new leaks is the presence of what looks like a small button on the side of the drone.
What this can do remains a mystery, but a potential theory is that it will launch the drone when no controller is present. This may give it similar selfie -shooting functions to DJI Flip or DJI NEO, which allows users to unfold it, launch it from their hand to take a quick clip or photo before they get it back automatically – no controller or even smartphone required.
With this latest information added to what we have already heard, we can now build a pretty clear picture of what the Mini 5 Pro can look special.
- DJI Mini 5 Pro rumored specifications
- 1-inch image sensor that supports up to 4K 120FPS video
- 24 mm lens with f/1.8 aperture
- 48 mm medium telecommunications mode
- Gimbal supports 225º movement, including vertical shooting
- Forward -facing lidar and omnidirectional infrared vision sensors
- 36-minute battery life
It is an impressive set of specifications for a small collapsible drone, and I am very much looking forward to getting confirmation when DJI finally comes around to officially launch the Mini 5 Pro.
Rumors say this will happen in September 2025, which is approaching and closer. Check back for more news in the coming weeks.
