- Mario Kart World version 1.6.0 has been released
- The update adds a new Bob-omb Blast Battle mode
- Adjustments to certain elements have been introduced along with a host of bug fixes
A new software update for Mario Kart World has been released and adds a ton of gameplay tweaks and bug fixes on top of a new Battle mode.
According to the latest patch notes for version 1.6.0, Nintendo has introduced the Bob-omb Blast Battle mode that longtime fans of the series may be familiar with.
This condition, which was also included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxeasks players to pop their opponent’s balloons in exchange for points by throwing the 10 Bob-ombs at their disposal, and the player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
The article continues below
IN Mario Kart Worldthe distance Bob-ombs can be thrown depends on how long you hold down the L button on the Nintendo Switch 2.
In addition to a new Battle mode, Nintendo has also introduced a number of balance tweaks across the board, including performance changes to the Bullet Bill and boomerang items.
For Bullet Bill, the range of its lateral movement has been increased, as well as its speed on parts of the Bowser’s Castle, Starview Peak, and Rainbow Road courses, and it is now easier to follow a shortcut route immediately after use.
However, the boomerang has been nerfed and now has a reduced range and number of consecutive throws allowed.
Items in general have also been adjusted for all courses, and the probability of getting them in crates, although we don’t know if it has been increased or decreased.
The game’s invincibility time mechanic after spinning or crashing during a race has also been tweaked, but it “varies depending on the character and vehicle” and the “heavier the weight, the longer the invincibility time.”
In addition, when playing Single Player or 1p in online and wireless games, up to two warnings will now be displayed when items such as Red Shells or Spiny Shells come from behind, and the time it takes for the roulette to stop to determine the course in online and wireless games has been shortened.
