- Another Samsung Tri-Fold Leakage has appeared
- The main screen size is said to be 9.9 inches
- It seems the phone is launching this year
Samsung has confirmed that it works on a tri-fold folding phone, and although we don’t have too much details about it yet, the latest leak around the handset gives us some more information about the screen size.
This tip comes from the well -known delicious digital chat station (via notebookcheck), which says we look at a main screen size of approx. 9.9 inches. It’s slightly smaller than the 10.2-inch screen that is sported by Huawei Mate XT Tri-Fold.
It also sets up pretty nicely with earlier rumors around this Samsung device: These rumors have predicted a main screen size of 9.96 inches and an outer screen size of 6.49 inches, which also indicates an important difference from Huawei Mate XT.
While the three panels of Mate XT are folded back on each other, leaving one-third of the screen visible when closed, the Samsung Tri-Fold is expected to fold inward-so all the most important display is covered when closed and another screen is needed.
More leaks and rumors
This same leak suggests that Samsung Tri-Fold will be launched this year. It can emerge sometime in July, which is when the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 are expected to be revealed.
Other whispers we’ve heard about this Samsung Tri-Fold are that it will offer 2,600 nits of brightness on its screens, which is a very decent figure and matches what is already offered by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
There has also been talk that the tri-fold may end up being called the Samsung Galaxy G Fold. It is by no means official yet, but the moniker would fit in nicely with the other collapsible phones that Samsung already manufactures.
It will be interesting to see how Samsung prices this phone. Obviously, it has to cost a lot because of the technology, but we hope it is not prohibitively expensive – and that it goes on sale all over the world.
