- Another Sony WH-1000XM6 leak has appeared
- Import documents suggest that a launch is close
- The three colors may match the existing model
Our Sony WH-1000XM5 review tells you that we have been very impressed with Sony’s flagship over-ear headphones since they launched in May 2022-but it is almost three years ago. Now it seems that a follow -up couple is finally starting.
The team on the Walkman blog (via notebookcheck) has seen what seems to be an importer archives showing a few of the countries that the long-awaited Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones are expected to appear in: India and Vietnam.
In addition, there are references to three colors that are assumed to be black, platinum silver and midnight blue. The current Sony WH-1000XM5 model is available in these three colors plus Smoky Pink, which was added later and not mentioned here.
There is no other information from this particular leak, but it adds to the mounting evidence that the Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones will appear very soon now before we are halfway through the year.
The best new headphones in 2025?
While there are usually two-year-old holes between flagship Sony Over-Ear headphone launches, the idea that the company has waited longer this time is getting this series in synchronization with its earplugs senest Sony WF-1000XM5.
Whatever the reason for the delay, these headphones are now overdue, giving a 2025 launch very likely at this time. Once the new model is revealed, it will undoubtedly fight for a space in our best headphone guide.
This is by no means the first leak we have heard around the Sony WH-1000XM6. Last month we saw some regulatory archives related to the device, which is always a sure sign that new hardware is becoming available to consumers.
It looks like we could be in line for a Bluetooth Tech upgrade with these headphones, while there have also been some adjustments to the design this time. As soon as something is official, of course, we will tell you.
