NEW Strands today (game #617) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #617, are…
- ACCOUNTANT
- CLERK
- LEADER
- RECEPTIONIST
- AIDE
- SPANGRAM: OFFICE JOB
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
I had two hits from the late 1970s running through my head when I played this game. The first was the Boomtown Rats’ classic I don’t like Mondayswhich was a little macabre in retrospect, but something I used to sing to myself while trudging through homework on a Sunday night.
The second song was Martha and The Muffins’ small town anthem Echo Beachwith its chorus of “From nine to five I have to spend my time at work / My job is very boring, I am an office assistant” – something I can relate to in my former life as a boring office worker.
Of all the OFFICE JOBS we searched for today, RECEPTIONIST has to be the most fun, especially if you have a computer screen that doesn’t face your co-workers—so you can dream of being back in Echo Beach without your nosy co-workers knowing what you’re up to.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Sunday, November 9, Game #616)
- ENTRY
- SPELLBIND
- HYPNOTIZE
- PRISONERS
- SPANGRAM: CHARMEDIMSURE
