Strands is the NYT’s latest word game, following the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s great fun. It can be difficult though, so read on for my Strands tips.

It was pretty obvious that this search contained ABRACADABRA, but hopefully I wasn’t the only person who spent about five minutes trying to connect all the letters after starting from the wrong end.
The Lady Gaga hit is outstanding, but I prefer the Steve Miller Band song of the same title from 1982, ditto for GOLDEN from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack – which has eclipsed the magnificent Harry Styles song of the same name. Get your own song titles, 2025.
In any case, aside from these minor gripes, this was a fun game to remind us how in or out of touch we are with chart music.
