“We’re going undercover” must be about spies, I thought, so I went looking for words associated with covert operations like mole, agent, and mission. Then I found the word BLANKET and realized I was looking for the wrong type of undercover.
Next, the letter Q helped me find QUILT – although I admit I first found the non-game word “quest”.
Today’s spangram was obvious, but it still took me a while to go from “cloth” to “bedding” to finally BEDDING, all of which has left me feeling a bit sleepy.

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-anymore word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a full-fledged member of NYT’s game stable that’s been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
