Strands is the NYT’s latest word game, following the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s great fun. It can be difficult though, so read on for my Strands tips.

NEW Strands today (game #675) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #675, are…
- DRILL
- FLOSS
- TOOTHBRUSH
- MIRROR
- FLUORINE
- SPANGRAM: DENTIST’S OFFICE
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
Apart from the unnecessarily long spanframe, this was a relatively easy ride around the board.
That said, before I happened upon DRILL, I was under the impression that we were looking for words associated with wide-open spaces, rather than wide-open mouths.
I think I was traumatized as a teenager about dental care after watching the movie Marathon man on television; it has a very graphic dental torture scene and I didn’t go for a decade. I would recommend avoiding it if you are in any way tired of a trip to your DENTIST’S OFFICE.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Tuesday, January 6, Game #674)
- BALLOON
- BIRD
- KITE
- DRONE
- AIRPLANE
- ROCKET
- SPANGRAM: DEFIES GRAVITY
