When the theme goes completely over your head, Strands can be so difficult/impossible.
I’ve never felt closer to giving up than I did on this game, but luckily it was easy to spot dozens of non-game words – most of which could add the letters ER to get another non-game word.
Even with all these hints, I still struggled, especially over the spanframe.
Some googling after the game revealed that the spanram is the title of a Disney TV show and “Nevermore!” the theme is a riff on the Alan Edgar Poe poem The ravenbut to be honest, I’m still puzzled. Completed it though.

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-anymore word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a full-fledged member of NYT’s game stable that’s been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
