I expected the tension to spell “snake”, but it would be too obvious – and too short.
Despite knowing what we were looking for, I struggled to find a snake-but found lots of words that were not games, so I took the hint to make me go. Adder set me out and from there I slipped in honor.
That said, I tapped “rattle” instead of rattles about three times before I added R when there was no other option.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
