If you asked a British person to name some classic pies, they would probably say ‘chicken and sponge’ or ‘steak and kidney’, both best eaten with mashed potatoes. It’s not that we don’t also love confectioner who covers fruit, it’s just more common.
Such was my occupation of Twin Peaks That I once traveled from Seattle to the city where it was filmed – Snoqualmie in Washington State – so I could go to Double R Diner and eat a cherry pai like Agent Cooper. Apart from the fact that I couldn’t find the dining room (it was in the next town), so I left with my craving dissatisfied.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
