My immediate thoughts on today’s theme were TV talent shows and the many variants of such a country’s “Got Talent”.
In the UK, our version ran out of talent and we started importing participants shown in other country’s versions of the show. At that time, the weight changed from revealing talent and more about creating a fun TV show, which it did – but it broke the format. Hard to maintain an illusion of the verdict once you’ve thrown competitors.
Still, I’ll take off. Knowing different actions we were looking for made for a very dull thread. Although having the duet instead of singer is an easy curve ball. They also lacked the cute dog actions that seem to be an integral part of a black show – or at least those who involved Simon Cowell.
Concerns of exploitation have probably seen correctly seen the decline in performing animals – except for dogs that seem more than happy to humiliate themselves dancing / jumping over small fences / posing on pedestals / smoking pipe / catching frisbees / wearing bomber jackets and pork hats for human entertainment. Not good enough to make threads though, guys.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
