I flew first class once when the friend I traveled with managed to get us an upgrade. It was much like that episode of The Simpsons When Homer discovers that there is a secret world that only beautiful people can access.
I spent the whole flight feeling like an imposter. An imposter that of course enjoyed eating lobster and traveling with fine champagne.
Another time, the Icelandic tourist board came up with Business Class, which was exciting news unless I was stuck in security and missed the flight and then downgraded back to coach. It was frustrating, but I enjoyed the instant “fancy of fancy” and felt like an important business people, although I did not benefit from the benefits of being an important businessman. I know my place.
Still, I’ll take off. A straightforward search today and a reminder of the little things that make a big difference when it comes to comfort.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
