Top marks, new, to have given us a thread tip that looks like a pale yellow sailboat against a clear blue sky. It does if you shoot a little.
Although today’s edition was actually ordinary sailing when I first started, it took me a while to find my sea legs.
I had found six non -related words without a clue what today’s theme meant, so I chose a tip word. Helm left me in little doubt, so I walked around exhausting every boat word I could think of.
Sailing is another of the hobbies I like the sound of, but the reality is very different. For starters, it’s far above my grade – and then there is my chronic movement disease that would probably not go down well with the salted sea dogs down by the boat garden. I stick to laptops and word searches.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
