My first thought when I saw the theme was that we would search for something to do with fashion trends.
After finding a study in the grid, I was originally amazed, especially when it was sitting right next to what I originally appointed as a “exam” before I added ine to examination. The span frame came next, which finally settled my confused mind.
I was originally thrown by the letter Z in the study (I am in the UK where we use an ‘s’) but not enough to disturb me for a long time. A satisfactorily difficult – but not too difficult – game.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
