I really struggled to get started with today’s search and needed a few tips to get me to get me into action.
In the end, this became one of these versions of threads where you think you are not highbrow enough to know the words, but ends up knowing them all – not that I know how they sound.
Meanwhile, the one piece of choral story that everyone knows is that of Castrato, a male vocalist who underwent castration before puberty to preserve a soprano song voice long into adult age.
Castrati became wildly famous in the 17th century and had whole operas written for their unique ability, but went out of fashion in the 19th century when everyone realized it was just a gimmick and rather cruel.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
