The theme made me think we were looking for things that monitored us – cameras, drones, spies.
After getting steward as a tip word, I settled on chasing business, even though it took me a while to realize that it wasn’t guard I was looking for but Guardian.
I got the protector next time, but then got stuck before I finally found the very twisted swivel manager.
All of these words sound very authoritative, law-abiding and solid, which is as good as we need serious people to save us from scammers and ne’er-do-wells that also “keep an eye on things”.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
