Today’s strict theme immediately made me think of running the London Marathon a few years ago and all the feelings you need to muster to get to the finish line.
In fact, you need them to get to the starting line too – as it is half the fight with endurance events, especially running.
Everyone I know is Gabber by mentioning the London Marathon. I tend to continue with it a little, but I see it as a metaphor for the eternal struggle of life. Plus, I like to see the shock of people’s faces that someone so unfit as me could run 26 miles.
Of course, today’s keywords are relevant to lots of other situations. The human ability to survive and find a way forward is always something worth celebrating – even if it comes in the form of a word search.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
