I started off a good start today and found the word dinner – which immediately led to the winner. From there it was a pretty straightforward race to victory.
I was convinced that the title holder should be the excitement when I tapped it, but it went to the marginally longer finish strong that I’m not quite sure to work. You can finish strongly and be a loser if you didn’t start well in a race, championship or game, and just as if you are finished bad but started well you can still be a master.
The reality of becoming a medal is that the quality that a competitor or team needs the most is consistency, which is why serial winners are often compared to machines.
Before that, however, it is important to lose a lot and almost win things, otherwise people will compare you to a robot and no one wants to cheer for a robot.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
