NEW Strands today (game #671) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #671, are…
- INVENTIVE
- SEMINAL
- FRESH
- ORIGINAL
- NOVEL
- SPANGRAM: BREAKNEWGROUND
- My assessment: Hard
- My score: Perfect
If you wanted to listen to the most quintessentially British thing ever, then I recommend a long-running BBC radio program called Just a minute. It is a comedy panel show where contestants win points by speaking on a topic for 60 seconds without digression, repetition or hesitation.
I mention this because “I’ve never seen that before!” is just the kind of subject they want to talk about. In their case, it would most likely involve them telling anecdotes about roller-skating otters or banana-shaped helicopters.
No one, I suppose, would choose to ramble on about being INVENTIVE, SEMINAL or NOVEL. All words that in today’s Strands were something of a struggle to find.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Friday, January 2nd, Game #670)
- BLANKET
- SLIPPERS
- COCOA
- ROBE
- FIREPLACE
- KULLER
- SPANGRAM: KEEP WARM
