The official trailer to James Gunn’s Superman Film has taken a flight and it confirms David Corenswet’s titular hero will face another enemy in the warmly expected cartoon movie.
Moments after its worldwide premiere under Warner Bros’ Upfront 2025 presentation, DC Universe (DCU) Flick’s latest teaser, one who commits the cardinal sin I did not want from Superman‘s second trailer was released online. Before we dig into the greatest speech point, ie. who the aforementioned villain is, however, see it for the first (or 10. I do not judge!) Below because there is a lot to unpack and enjoy.

DCU -The chapter 1 movie’s latest trailer comes almost five months after SupermanCrypto scene stern first teaser landed online.
Since then, Warner is Bros. Pictures and DC Studios are slowly beginning to increase their marketing campaign for Superman’s latest big screen adventure. The promotional push has completely started in recent weeks with the release of a new Superman Clips showing up the film’s jaw rescuing fortress, several TV spots and its latest round with footage leading the charge of a campaign-DC-studios, has called ‘Superman Superman’.
Who is the hammer of Boravia in Superman?

Okay, so who is this armored suit seen that is seen fighting over metropolis? According to an edition of The Daily Planet -newspaper that appeared in the film’s first trailer, they are simply known as Hammer of Boravia.
Now Boravia is a fictional nation that has appeared in Superman comics. However, the so -called hammer is an original character created specifically for one of 2025’s most exciting new films. Given their mysterious title, the hammer comes from this country, which appears to have been reused as a Middle Eastern state for Gunn and Peter Safran’s restarted DC film franchise.
Here it is: I am not convinced that Hammer of Boravia is a brand new Metahuman invented Superman. I think this is simply a ruse and that the individual under the armor is one of two other enemies – but not the one teasing in Superman‘s first look-picture-to Corenswets Clark Kent will have to fight in this movie.
Potentially large spoilers follow for Superman. Do not continue if you do not want this possible history detail to be destroyed prior to release!
The first option is that Hammer of Boravia is none other than Nicholas Hoults Lex Luthor. As one of Superman’s most notorious antagonists, it is not a stretch to assume that the incredibly gifted Supervillain could invent and exercise a near-Superman-proof super-suit that would allow him to go to toe with someone that Luthor clearly despises.
That said, I don’t see Luthor being the one who masked like this super -smooth creature. After all, it is not in his nature to get his hands dirty. Instead, I think it’s another enemy and one we’ve seen in the past in Superman” s first trailer: Ultraman.

Think back to (or rather, said Teaser, and you will be reminded that the man of steel fought for someone who carries a whole black costume in an American football stadium. Obviously, SUPES have a really hard time with this person-so much, in fact that several observers have claimed Ultraman must be a laboratory waxed clone of Clark Kent/Kal-El.
This is not outside the opportunity area. An evil, alternative reality version of Superman, a called Ultraman, is already found in DC Comics. Then there is the fact that the hammer of Boravia is seen shooting laser rays from during his visor in Superman‘s latest trailer. Heat Vision is one of SUPES ‘most iconic superpowers, so that’s a reason why a clone would have a similar ability.
Add the prospect that Luthor is aware that the only way he can defeat Superman is to genetically construct a clone that can literally beat Kent in a one-on-one match and the evidence seems undeniable. The hammer of Boravia/Ultraman simply hair To be a copy of the titular Metahuman.
Of course, this is all speculation, but all signs point out that the hammer is a bait-and-switching feature from Gunn’s side, where the hammer will eventually be masked as Ultraman and by proxy a carbon copy by Superman himself. We find out for sure when the film achieves lift-off in theaters all over the world on July 11.
