New -threads today (game #400) – the answers
The answers to today’s threads, game #400, are …
- Satyr
- Merman
- Griffin
- Centaur
- Jackalope
- Spanggram: Hybrid Service
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 2 tips
I found it difficult to get started today and didn’t help much as my first tip gave me satyr – a mythical beast I had never heard of before.
It was only the second word that I knew what we were looking for and ended the search to have landed the long spang.
To save you googling – and you really don’t want it if you value a pure search story – is a satyr a “comically cruel” man who has the ears of a horse or goat (depending on whether you are Greek or Roman) and a prominent magical body part he enjoys balancing a wine cup on.
Meanwhile, a jackalope is a hornet rabbit -like creature, a merman is the male equivalent of a mermaid, a centaur has the upper body and head of a man and a horse’s body; And a griffin is a mythical combination of a lion and an eagle – but it tastes like chicken.
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.
