In addition to the joy of ending the word search, the other joy of threads is the places it takes your mind. Today, a trip down the memory track and the humble, but often frustratingly unsuccessful trouble with technology.
The theme “… not included” immediately made me think of Christmas Day’s frustrations about being gifted toys that were made redundant for the day because they demanded some AA batteries.
Batteries that are required are the longest excited thing I can remember to have seen and it took a huge part of the puzzle. I tapped “batteries” twice before I added “demanded”.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
