I did not see the theaters excited right away – possibly because I am attached to see the British spelling. Instead, I saw several non-game words in heat, heater and heaters. So I took the lazy opportunity to start with a tip.
Boxes didn’t help me to narrow things down a lot, but it made me think we were looking for something about venues and auditoriums. Seeing two letters zs together helped me get mezzanine – a nice sounding word – and when I first got lobby, I knew we were looking for words associated with theaters.
It’s a bit strange that “scene” is missing in the search as you can’t have a theater without one, but it’s my only unclear.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
